Furthermore, since no jobs are provided for life, employees who are ambitious and hard-working will naturally be motivated to achieve excellence. In addition, the ubiquitous sense of competition also makes permanent jobs outmoded. Although life-long positions are offered occasionally to commend individuals who have made a major contribution, in most circumstances, contracts are drawn on a yearly basis.
